Cabbage Patch Stew

Cabbage Patch StewPhase: 1

1 lb ground beef (may use ground turkey, or chicken)
2 medium onion, thinly sliced or diced
1 1/2 cups chopped cabbage
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 16 oz can stewed tomatoes
1 15 oz can kidney beans
1 cup water
1 t. salt or to taste
1/4 teas pepper
1 - 2 T. chili powder

Cook and stir ground meat in Dutch oven or large fry pan until brown, drain well.

Add onion, cabbage and celery. Cook and stir until veggies are light brown.

Stir in tomatoes, kidney beans with liquid, water, seasonings.

Heat to boiling.

Comments: I have also added a can of French style green beans and I cook until cabbage is unrecognizable.
